We are very busy here at Manor Oak. The children enjoy a diverse range of events and activities inside and outside of the School. Take a look at The Gallery below to see some of the things the pupils have been enjoying recently......
The children took part in an outdoor Remembrance event in the playground. The children stood apart in their bubbles; and every class exhibited their poppy tributes.
World Book Day
From shared reading, classroom swaps, amazing costumes to even a Hogwarts inspired classroom, World Book Day was celebrated by all at Manor Oak. Take a look at some of the photos and video of how we celebrated here at school!
Whole School Djembe Drumming Assembly
The pupils were lucky enough to learn djembe drumming by a Bromley Youth Music Trust teacher this term.
The Djembe (pronounced ‘jem-bay’) is a drum originally from West Africa. They are played using the hands.
According to the Bambara people in Mali, the name of the djembe comes from the saying ‘Anke djé, anke bé’, which translates to ‘Everyone gather together in peace’ – this also defines the drum’s purpose.
The children put on a lovely concert for the whole school to enjoy- well done!
Year 2 Visit to Waterstones Bookstore
"We were lucky enough to have a story time session at the Waterstones Store in the Nugent Centre. We were read a story called 'The Tiny Seed' which linked to our science learning all about plants."
Some children purchased their own choice of book from the store too. Our session finished with a poem all bout plants. The children had a great time and we hope other classes will be able to visit soon too.
Thank-you to all our parent helpers- we hope you had a great time too!
