Manor Oak Governing Body
"My two children went to school in Bromley and I taught in Bromley primary schools for over twenty years. I have been a governor at Manor Oak School since it opened as a Fresh Start School in 2000. I was asked to become a governor as I taught and worked with many of the Traveller children and families who attend the school. When I retired I was able to give more time to the school and became Chair of Governors for nine years, which meant that as well as visiting the school more often, I could meet more children and parents. I have seen the school grow and improve with the guidance of an excellent hard-working staff and supportive parents. I am now one of two Vice Chairs working to strengthen the Governing Body."
"I joined the team of Governors in 2013. I have two grown up children and two grandchildren in primary education. My background is in finance and management. Recently retired, I worked as a Finance Director in a major multi-national company. I am passionate about education, and I feel privileged to be part of the Governing body at Manor Oak and will do my best for the school."
"I was appointed as a School Governor at Manor Oak in January 2014. I work in the Finance industry and have done so for 25 years. I am keen to give back to the community and becoming a school governor has enabled me to put my skills, experience and knowledge to use on the Finance Committee.
Since joining the governing body at Manor Oak I have become a father and I am enjoying help shape and support the future of how education is managed and delivered within my local area for current pupils and future generations."
